Juan Ignacio Mera has a PhD in Architecture by the School of Architecture of Madrid (ETSAM) and is a Senior Lecturer on Architectural Projects at the School of Architecture of Toledo (Castilla La Mancha University, UCLM).
At present, he is the Director of the School of Architecture of Toledo (EAT).
Over the course of his trajectory, Mera has been:
- Lecturer on Projects at the ESTSAM, between 1992/2010.
- Director of the magazine MAET, published by the School of Toledo, between 2010/2015.
- President of Conferences and Exhibitions at the COAM (Madrid professional association of architects) between 2002/2006.
- Founder and editor of the magazine Sin Marca.
Mera has received awards in numerous architectural competitions, which have resulted in jobs such as the Embajadores Building in Madrid, the Loranca towers, homes in Mirasierra that were exhibited in the Venice Biennale in 2005, or the Villafranca de los Barros Guesthouse, amongst others published in national and international magazines.
He has also been a member of the jury in multiple national and international Architecture competitions.
As well as working as an Architect, he continues to work as a painter, having held numerous exhibitions.
